Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By creating an account, selecting the acceptance box, or using MyMappi, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use MyMappi. If the law where you live requires a higher age to consent to online services, you must meet that age or have authorization from a parent or legal guardian.

3. Accounts And Security

Provide accurate account information, keep your password confidential, and use only your own account. You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify MyMappi through the support channel if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Your Memories And Media

You retain ownership of your titles, stories, notes, photos, videos, voice recordings, and other content. You grant MyMappi a limited permission to host, process, copy, display, and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure, sync, back up, and improve the service for you.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to upload your content. Respect the privacy, copyright, publicity, and other rights of people shown or described in a memory.

If you intentionally send a private Memory Capsule, you direct MyMappi to make its text and place details available to the verified recipient. In version 1.0, you may optionally include one cover photo that passes the pre-delivery safety check; videos, audio, artifacts, and other photos are not shared. The recipient may save a separate copy to their account. Deleting your original later does not automatically delete a copy that the recipient already chose to save.

5. Community Standards

Private Memory Capsules are user-generated content and must be safe and respectful. Do not create, upload, or share:

• Child sexual abuse or exploitation, sexual content involving minors, non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual exploitation, or pornographic content.
• Credible threats, encouragement of violence, content that promotes self-harm, stalking, or instructions intended to cause physical harm.
• Hateful, dehumanizing, discriminatory, harassing, bullying, or deliberately humiliating content targeting a person or protected group.
• Another person’s sensitive or private information, image, or likeness without the rights or permission needed to share it.
• Illegal, fraudulent, deceptive, infringing, malicious, or impersonating content, including malware or attempts to compromise another account or the service.

Do not use MyMappi to evade another person’s block, submit knowingly false reports, interfere with security or service operation, access another user’s account, scrape the service, or reverse engineer protected parts of the service except where law expressly permits it.

6. Safety Tools And Enforcement

MyMappi may automatically prevent capsule text that appears to violate these standards from being delivered. Every shared text field is checked, but filters are limited and do not replace good judgment. An optional shared cover photo must come from the sender’s owner-controlled MyMappi storage, use a supported format and size, and pass a Google Cloud Vision SafeSearch check before delivery. If the check is unavailable or inconclusive, the photo is not shared; the sender may deliberately retry with a text-only capsule. Automated classification can make mistakes and does not guarantee that content is safe. A recipient can report a capsule and block its sender. Reports provide authorized moderators with the report reason, optional details, relevant identifiers, and a bounded snapshot of the reported capsule for review.

MyMappi may remove or disable a capsule, warn or restrict an account, suspend or terminate access, preserve relevant safety records, or report conduct when required by law. We consider context, severity, and history. Egregious conduct and repeated violations may lead to immediate account suspension or termination. Report decisions can be questioned by emailing mm@mymappiapp.com.

7. Privacy

MyMappi is private by default and has no public feed. You may intentionally send one private Memory Capsule to a verified recipient; Friends-audience and Public options remain disabled. How information is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Maps, Search, Routes, Weather, And Location

Map pins, place names, addresses, routes, travel times, weather, and device location may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. MyMappi is designed to preserve memories, not to provide emergency, safety-critical, or professional navigation. Pay attention to real-world conditions, posted signs, and applicable laws.

9. Third-Party Services

MyMappi relies on third-party services for authentication, cloud storage, maps, search, routes, weather, and external directions. Those services may have their own terms and policies, and availability may change.

10. Service Availability

MyMappi continues to evolve. Features, designs, storage formats, providers, and availability may change. Interruptions and defects may occur. Keep independent copies of irreplaceable media.

11. MyMappi Property

MyMappi’s name, mascot, visual design, software, interfaces, and original service content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of MyMappi property to you.

12. Suspension And Termination

You may stop using MyMappi at any time. We may limit or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, security, legal compliance, or service integrity. Account deletion and data retention are described in the Privacy Policy.

13. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or preservation of every file. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived.

14. Limitation Of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, MyMappi will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of data, or loss caused by relying on map, route, weather, or location information. Applicable consumer laws may provide rights that override part of this section.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms as the service develops. Material changes will be identified by a new effective date and, when appropriate, an in-app notice. Continuing to use MyMappi after updated Terms become effective means you accept them.
